A couple of us were going to try Otter Creek today since most of the ice came off in the Wednesday storm. My buddy had some farming chores get in the way so I went by myself. It turns out he was the smart one.[]
I launched the tube at Tamarisk Point about 9:30 and fished until 2:30. The water temperature was 37-41 degrees and the visibility in the water was about 3'. The reservoir level is at 57% full. I tried a number of different flies and lines and did not have so much as bump.
The weather was great with 30's & 40's and no wind. There were a lot of shore anglers along with a couple of boats. Most of the shore anglers around me left around 1:00, I should have left with them[:/].
It was one of those days when the fish finder just irritates you, showing fish and yet no action.
I swear that the Cormorants must have read the State Park facebook post about open water. There were a bunch there and it's just been open water for a few days.
It was one of those really nice fishing days, the catching, not so much.[]
