Shaft length
#1
I have a 9.9 Mercury for sale (see For Sale in Utah board) and I don't know what the shaft length is. Can someone please tell me the measuring points?

Just type in the serial number on a Merc website and it will tell you the specs. Or phone a Merc dealer and they can tell you in a few seconds.

Shaft length is measured from where the transom sits to the bottom of the cavitation plate.
Short shaft is 15" then long shaft is 20", extra long is 25"

Thanks; it was kinda obvious when I got ahold of it and measured. Was 17", just what my transom is.

Thanks. I tried both means and neither could tell me shaft length. But good to know for future reference.
