I HIT BEAR LAKE FOR THE FIRST TIME ON SATURDAY... I FISHED THE ROCK PILE.I HAD ALOT OF FUN.. DIDNT SEE ALOT OF FISH ON THE ICE. BUT I CAUGHT MY FAIR SHARE... I FISHED IN A PARTY OF 3 AND CAUGHT 4 CUTTHROATS..7 WHITEFISH...3 SUCKERS... AND LIKE 60 CISCO OR AT LEAST I THINK THEY WERE CISCO THEY LOOKED LIKE MINITURE VERSIONS OF THE WHITEFISH BUT THEY WERE LIKE 5 INCHES LONG.. CAUGHT ALL FISH ON A RAT FINKY TIPPED WITH A WAX WORM. ALL FISH WERE CAUGHT IN 25-30 FT OF WATER. THE CUTTS WERE ALL BETWEEN 18-25 INCHES. AND MAN THOSE WHITE FISH FIGHT HARD!! THE BIGGEST WHITE WAS ABOUT 3LBS.

IT WAS A GREAT DAY!

THANX FOR ALL OF THE HELP GUYS.. THIS REALLY IS A HELPFULL SITE!

The cisco you caught were likely the Bear Lake whitefish, the smaller cousin of the Bonnevile whitefish. The cisco spawn is over, and one might get a few cisco to bite (when they are around) but not a large quantity of them.
