Cannon Electrics
#1
I'm considering upgrading to electrics. I have a fiberglass boat. The install info online I've seen talks about a common ground between all the metal on the boat, or possibly the positive ion control, and the auto stop won't work. will this be an issue, it sounds like a PITA. Any other tricks I should know about?

You can Google positive ion control and it's benefits but from my experience, for most boats especially fiberglass boats, it has little to no benefit. It only makes a difference in the price you pay, IMO. I have never heard of the auto stop not working properly as long as the wiring is connected correctly but maybe someone with a fiberglass boat might have other thoughts.

on a glass boat like mine you just run your power and ground like you would when hooking up any other accessory. right to the battery neg . or a buss block . positive ion control which all electric cannons have works through the cable on the spool .
