We camped at Lucerne Thursday through Monday and fished Friday, Saturday and Monday morning. We fished near swim beach each morning early before the wind started. The first morning we had five of us in the boat and had our limit of Kokanee by about 10:30 am. The second morning just three of us fished and had our nine Kokanee by 8:00 am. Monday morning we knew the wind and bad weather was going to pick up early. We were in the water by 5:30 am and started fishing near Swim Beach again. It was already windy when we started with occasional periods of slightly calmer weather. We had all six of us fishing for our final morning and were able to battle the wind and bad weather and get 18 more Kokanee and were back at the dock by about 9:00am. Orange, pink and chartreuse all caught fish and anything with glow on it really seemed to help. We only caught two pup lake trout the entire trip even when we occasionally targeted them. The Kokanee were caught between 15 and 65 feet. Overall it was a great trip and although the weather wasn’t great, it was better than we had expected. It was fun seeing the kids and my father in law having so much fun catching fish.
