Fishing Program Helps Children's Cancer Fund
#1
ST. PAUL, MN- Fishing the WildSide, a company dedicated to expanding the sport of fishing, announced it will donate $1 for every bass weighed during Minnesota's summer-long Pro/Am Bass Tour to the Children's Cancer Research Fund.

"We have spent so much time and energy thinking of ways to help people better enjoy their time fishing," said NAFC Member and Wildside co-founder Chip Leer. "It seemed time for us to give back to the youngsters who face life's greatest challenge. By making a contribution for every fish weighed on the Tour we're directly combining the rewards of catching fish with the search for a cure. Fishing benefits everyone who participates, now fish catching will directly benefit those who might not be able to fish, there is no better catch."

In more than 20 years of existence, the Children's Cancer Research Fund has raised more than $30 million to help children with cancer.

The Minnesota Pro/Am Bass Tour (MNPABT) runs a dual angler format. A full tournament field consists of 100 boats with a professional angler at the helm and a co-angler fishing out of the back of the boat. Each team of two is allowed to bring their limit of bass to the scales where the fish are weighed and then released. The MNPABT will make five qualifying stops throughout the summer.

"It's fantastic to see our outdoors community step up for such an important cause," said tournament director Danny Suggs. "The MNPABT consists of 200 anglers who are willing to make a difference and Fishing the WildSide is giving them the means to do so."
