So was able to take a part of of family and grandkids to the gorge to show them some fishing. I knew the wind was going to be 20 to 25 gusts on Friday so we shot for Sheep Creek around 2pm when we arrived. I knew it offered a short boat ride back to the launch if needed. We started out with our color coordinated reels and rod guide wraps for each pole. This makes it easy for new Fisher people when you yell “fish on Orange Rod” get it!! We used Paulinapeaktackle dodgers in moon jelly with different shades of pink added to them along with Blue/UV, Light Orange/UV and my Halloween squid I call it ( black, Orange, pink ,silver ) and most productive squid color all the time for us. The wind was from the SW which I felt was good to fish the west side that I like. Wind was around 17 mph with 1 1/2 ft white caps....pushed the boat well at 1.7 to 2 mph with out hardly and motor other than to steer. We hit fish right off the bat tipped with corn and tuna oil. We used regular corn as we do better than with shoe peg corn..and it holds on longer. Also did real well with a small pearl needlefish spoon I painted with my sweet wifes hot
Pink nail polish with a #1 gamu added. Fish were taken at 32 to 38 ft. The fish fought hard and decent size. On Saturday morning at 5 am we went north to try buckboard. Same lures and wind conditions. Fishing was hit from 10 am to 1. We took 17 of a 18 limit and a few small pups. These fish had great size and fight. Fished just south of boat launch in the center channel. What a great weekend! Enjoy the pics
