Late start, fished from 3:00pm to 5:30. We caught 6 rainbows all around the 12" size. We had 3 poles trolling.

One downriver at 30' dodger and squid 0 fish
Leaded line out 2 colors with pink doger and squid. 3 fish
Jake's lure at the surface 3 fish

Light traffic for a holiday. One other boat out.

Thanks for the report, we sure don't get many reports from that lake. Not bad for only fishing for 2.5 hours fishing. That lake has some bigger fish in it and some nice tigers too. Where did you launch from? I know there is a nice launch at the camp ground but I was thinking you could launch at a dirt launch too, especially if you have a smaller boat.

We launched at the camp ground. Lake is full so you could put a smaller boat in on the road.

I am hoping to get there with my kids this summer. I have never been before. Is it just me, or is it weird that it wasn't crowded on the holiday? I have heard it is a popular location for families. I could be wrong.

There's a long bumpy road in there, so that may keep a lot of people away. Why go there when you can just stop at Strawberry without the hassle? However I believe I heard that the road had been improved last year. Anyone know? It's a pretty place and there is a variety of species in there.

The older I get the more I would rather be considered a good man than a good fisherman.

It has been over 10 year since I visited Current Creek. I remembered the dirt section to be much longer. The dirt started about 1 mile before the Dam. It's still bumpy all the way around lake. Seems like it takes for ever to go around the lake but it really is only about 4 miles of dirt.

they have paved about 13 miles of the old wash board dirt road. once you get to the reservoir its still dirt ( 4 miles) all the way around.
