Fish lake trip
#1
Well made it to fish lake for the 4th. Someone was in our spot and moved when asked about it so that was ok.
Got a new outboard so went out to try it and chase the perch around. Friday went out with the fish finder and was marking fish suspended at 20 feet but no takers. Took the wife out Friday evening for some more perch. She doesn’t fish much but had a blast catching them. She said I wasn’t looking to good so went back to camp. Spent all Saturday looking out the window with altitude sickness it was all I could do to take the dogs out for a walk.
Sunday still couldn’t function so packed up as well as I could and the wife drove us back to Boulder City Nevada. There is road work in the virgin canyon which took 2 hours to get thru but the lower altitude had me feeling better.
I didn’t have this problem last year but this time it wiped me out. Hopefully next year I will be better.

Sorry to hear that the altitude got to you. Will be spending six days down there, in a few weeks, and looking forward to it.

Thanks
The older and heavier I get the harder the hills are. But if I ever have a perfect trip it would probably ruin the adventure.
It would have been nice to catch a salmon.

Headed over there in August with the family. We usually take an annual trip there. One of our favorite memories is the evening we caught 125 perch from our canoe within 3 hours. Good times and beautiful scenery. I hope next time you can stay longer. I am glad your wife had fun with the perch before you had to pack up and leave.
