Scofield on Columbus Day
#1
Hit Scofield on Columbus day Me, Rino and Brojos. Set sail at Madison Bay at 9:30 am. Clear Blue Skies no wind - nothing too breezy all day. Not a single boat around us all day. Saw one other boat way out on the other side of the lake. I guess people aren't into celebrating Columbus Day. Air Temperature was about 38 F and quickly rising to about 60 F or more when we left at 2:45. Water Temperature was about 46 F and very very high. Couldn't believe how high the water was this late in the season, Normally the lake gets completely drained to about 20%. Hopefully they keep that high water level and don't drain it late in the season. The Three of us together caught about a total of 3 dozen fish, all cuts 11'' - 15''' couple of 17'' and we lost about that many at the side of the boat. Good news was no chubs and the stunted Cuts are starting to fatten up. We were hoping to hook up on some Wipers and Rainbows, but we ran out of time. Most any lure trolling or drifting worked. Dark colored curly tails seemed to be the most successful. Even hooked up with a couple fish using Fligs. Always a great place for kids not the biggest but plenty of action to keep the kid interested all day.

Great Day on the Water. Glad it was discovered.

Thanks for the report, always good to hear the trout are getting fatter and that no chubs were caught. How fast were you trolling? Sounds like you all had a great day.
