ill tell ya what happened
cicada madness
Probably the bestest since the fire of 02 burnt over 22,000 acres
High water push came and went early this season everything seemed a month behind
more like a may or june snopack in july
and the big bugs of buzz
showed up in force
Anytime you git that kind of easily available biomass along a river corridor its gonna change them troots feeding habits
and twas a season of foam chompin
got the better 1/2 out a couple times
she don't fish but likes time on the sticks and the travel and camping along a special waterway
and its pretty rare whens there aint a landseer newfy furkid copirating in the back of the tupparewhare mothership hog
or watchin over camp
truth be told im a tug as a drug of choice guy
but after blowing a few to many eats I tightened up the dryfly game and made em pay for foam chompin
th[URL=http://s5.photobucket.com/user/skifishbum/media/fish%20stoke%2018/SavedImage_0706190756e12_zpshvchmx6r.jpg.html]is glutinous pig chowed the cicada with a 6'' sculpin stuck in his craw
made it out with the crew and I try to fish a bit with my old man when I can
tough summer for him as divorce #3 is taking a financial and emotional toll
but im stoked hes got a new fishin squeeze and shes a good person who seems to enjoy the things he does
stoked to git her into her first gr troot
probably be better for me if I quit after the first or didn't buy a drifty but im a hopeless addict now and an enabler
my steamboat greenie friends came over for an annual rendezvous of river rattery
and the bro who was along side me a couple decades ago when the doing of the thing was the I do's of matrimony showed up for the best day of dry fly catching hes ever had
bullles showed up to party
the boys brought the lutz
the smokers smoked
fish got stuck
fish got let go so others could enjoy the catching
and the cheers of appropriate buzzes were counted as blessings
