Scofield Trip
#1
A friend and I fished Scofield today in our tubes from 10:00 until 3:00 using fly tackle. We used several sinking lines from #2 to #6 and various size 6-8 bead head flies in pink, white, midnight fire, and tan. We caught one rainbow and the rest were cutthroats all between 12" and 16" long. The best method was to cast 50' to 60' of line out, troll for a bit, and then strip the line in. Most of the fish came from water 8' - 15' deep.

The water temperature was 39-40 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 5'. There is still some algae in the water column.

The reservoir level is 72% full, this time last year it was only 34% full.

We only saw a handful of shore anglers in Madsen Bay and no boats on the water except ours.[Wink]

The weather started out calm in the 20's but it warmed up to 40 degrees, then the wind kicked up.[:/]

It was a fun day on the water. The only other floaters were the ducks and geese.[Wink]

Sounds like another good trip, thanks for sharing your report and pics. Good to hear the lake is so full this late in the season.
