HOW DO YOU RIG UP A LEECH?
#1
[unsure] WELL GUYS IN ONE OF THE OTHER POSTS HERE I MENTIONED A TIP ON HOOKING A LEECH SO THEY DONT BALL UP, SLIP A PEICE OF RUBBER BAND OR SURGICAL TUBING AROUND YOUR HOOK SHANK SO THEY CAN SUCKER ONTO THAT AND THEY WONT ROLL UP.

NOW TO THE QUESTION, AS I HAVE NEVER REALLY USED A LEECH AS BAIT I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT IT OFTEN ENOUGH BUT STOPPED BECAUSE I WASNT SURE HOW TO RIG IT UP ON MY LINE, DROP SHOT, CAROLILNA, TEXAS, THREE WAY, STRAIGHT...ETC...ETC.... SO HOW DO YOU RIG A LEECH AFTER YOU HAVE THE SLIMY TURD ON YOUR HOOK??

Badfish - I used to use leeches back in the Midwest on a slip bobber set up and/or tipped on curly tail jigs. Not sure how productive leeches would be here, though? Good luck!

Rig it like you would a crawler or a live minnow (which obviously you can't use in Utah)... on a bare jig, on a slip bobber, on a bottom bouncer, whatever. Attach it to the hook by sticking it through the sucker or try hooking it through the tail end so it tries to swim away. Slow presentations are best since you want to let the live bait wriggle do it's magic. If you're going to fish fast or if the fish are active you might as well use plastic. But live bait shines when fish are inactive.
