Marlin
Marlin fishing has slowed, to cooler water temperatures.
We caught: 1 marlin on Sunday and 2 on Monday.
Dorado
Good numbers of dorados inside to the Golden Gate 1 to 3 miles off the beach, nice dorados on live bait, lures and ballyhoos.
We caught: 1 dorado on Sunday, 2 on Monday, 4 on Tuesday, 7 on Wednesday, 19 on Thursday, 12 on Friday and 10 on Saturday.
Tuna
Few 30 to 40 pounds tuna inside to the Golden Gate on cedar plugs, hoochies and sardines.
We caught: 3 tuna on Sunday, 8 on Tuesday, 2 on Wednesday, 6 on Thursday, 1 on Friday and 2 on Saturday.
Jc’s Sportfishing Charters is a family owned and operated business and has been fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the past 18 years. Jerry, explains that his charter business is geared more for families and novice anglers, making sure everyone who charters a boat with him have a great time and lots of fun. We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well let’s get on with the fishing report for this past week.
WEATHER: The forecast for Cabo San Lucas in the coming two weeks is predicting the average daytime maximum temperature will be around 27°C, with a high for the two weeks of 30°C expected on the afternoon of Saturday 21st. The average minimum temperature will be 19°C, dipping to its lowest on the morning of Saturday 21st at 18°C. Expect the following 14 days ahead to remain predominantly dry. On the whole winds are likely to be light.

Lime-Marinated Mahi Mahi
You can substitute a lighter olive oil for the extra-virgin olive oil. Serve over rice
INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 pinch salt
2 tablespoons lime juice
1/8 teaspoon grated lime zest
2 (4 ounce) mahi mahi fillets
2 twists lime zest (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat, and lightly oil the grate.
2. Whisk the extra-virgin olive oil, minced garlic, black pepper, cayenne pepper, salt, lime juice, and grated lime zest together in a bowl to make the marinade.
3. Place the mahi mahi fillets in the marinade and turn to coat; allow to marinate at least 15 minutes.
4. Cook on the preheated grill until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is lightly browned, 3 to 4 minutes per side.
5. Garnish with the twists of lime zest to serve.
Strawberry Limeade
This strawberry limeade is perfectly sweet and tart, and very refreshing drink for summer.
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 CUP LIME JUICE
1/3 CUP SUGAR
1/3 CUP WATER
1/2 LB SLICED STRAWBERRIES
20-30 MINT LEAVES
2 CUPS COLD WATER
INSTRUCTIONS
1. To make the simple syrup, combine the sugar and water in a saucepan, and cook over medium high heat for 5-10 minutes until the sugar is dissolved and the liquid is clear.
2. In a large mason jar or a pitcher, combine the lime juice, simple syrup, strawberries, mint, and water. Let sit in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Serve and enjoy!
BEWARE: Please beware of the guys in the street selling boat charters. If you wait till the day you are fishing and go to the dock where your boat is many times people will mislead you to another boat or dock trying to put you on a boat that was not meant for you. You need to have a person guide you to your boat, who is from a reputable charter company. This way there is no confusion or misleading. Please remember when renting Sport fishing boats in Cabo that you rent your boat from reputable and established business. Walk into a fishing fleet office and ask questions about what you are getting and what are the costs? You don't want to rent boats from vendors in the streets and you do not want to book through shady websites offering you the world. Check through travel forums about reputable fishing fleets to deal with. Look for testimonials about the fleet your booking, your charter with. Ask about what will the boat be supplying? Will it include beverages or lunches? How much does it cost to fillet your catch? Check to see if charter boat is insured? Ask about getting your catch smoked? Check cost of a fishing license. These are just a few things to consider when booking your charter boat. We will be talking more about this in the next weeks fishing report.
