After I fished a 2-day event with an ole friend of mine last weekend and drying out from Saturday, Dusty and I decided to hit the Chick for 2 hours late yesterday in hopes of finding either some frog fish or some better fish in the jumps. Ran to our first spot and within minutes we say 2-3 groups in the jumps. Dusty quickly boated 3 fish on a chatterbait as we located a school away from the jumps and I also caught 4 bass. Once we got to them the fun started. First cast and I hooked doubles on a topwater prop bait. Got them to the boat and as Dusty netted one came off. Oh well. Good 2.5 pound fish quickly released. Caught 5 more this way with the biggest at 4 pounds. About twenty minutes before dark the topwater bite just stopped. Caught three more from school we initially found then called it a night. Best three would have gotten us 10.5 pounds or so. All fish caught on chatterbait, topwater, and crankbait.
