drop-shotting
#1
Can drop shotting be effective if you are fishing from the bank? And what are some good plastics to use?

kybasser
"The two best times to fish is when it's rainin' and when it ain't." ~Patrick F. McManus

Hello Patrick,
I have had success drop shotting from the bank. I use 6" plastic worms but have seen anglers use plastics as long as 10" from shore and would imagine different colors and sizes will work equally as well depending on the area. Good Luck! Let us know what ends up working for you.

[laugh] How about a good laugh?
http://www.bigfishtackle.com/comics.htm

Mike H

Drop shotting works great from the shore. I also use worms for this, but have success with other plastics.
Drop shotting is tying your worm on with an extra bit of line trailing rather than clipping it off. I will typically leave 15" in which you can place a pinch weight or split shot to the end of it. when fished properly the weight will sit on the bottom suspending your worm in the strike zone. By sliding the weight along the trailer you can choose the depth of you worm. Then simply twitch your rod tip gently to create action in you worm. After trying a few times you should get the feel for it.

Eric Seif

celsass,
Two errors in your post. Firdt you got to register and be loged in, and two you got to find a pops from theangler that has the BFT certificate pic. in it. Dont fret tho as ther are more to be posted this round and keep looking for it. Hint : look for one that has a current posting date from theangler. Remember to check out the posts from others as it is an ocean of great info. theangler is a great gut and is a little sneekie at times so check often and you might just get to reel in one of the certs.

Texas Gulf Coast Fisher.

say KyBasser
have you ever tryed slip shoting (dont know if the name is corect)

there are two methods I use

1) I use an egg sinker above my swivel snap with enough weight to resist the curent of the river when I have a spicific hole I want to fish in.

2) I use an egg sinker that will get to the bottom of the river and drift and roll on the bottom of the river dragging my bait with it to get the fish to follow it and grab on.

both works well on trout and salmon and ocational walleye and catfish.

http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/MESS6438/
Lookie See what the kids are up to.
Dave T. Try using the 4 inch senkos from Gary Yamamot baits. Smoke is my favorite he also offers several other colors that work.
