Scofield and Strawberry
#1
Fished Madsen Bay at Scofield today (Feb 8), and there was only a few inches of soft snow on top of the ice. 16-18” of mixed ice, solid though, and it was 37 deg when we arrived at 11am. Slow fishing. Only managed one rainbow in 3 hours, and 4 other light bites. Not much coming through on the fish finder, we were close to shore in 20’ of water

Fished the southern end of Scofield, arriving late morning, and picked up, and put back 4 or 5 dont remember. Didn't see much coming through on the finder either. 16 to 23 FOW. Fish were caught at the 10 to 12 foot level. Most people were fishing further out from the shore, didn't see much happening there.

Oddly, all fish caught were not in view of the finder.

Thank you for the reports. I think we'll head that way for a new adventure and experience. Never ice fished this reservoir before.

I'm going to take a snowmobile. Would either State Park be suitable?
