My neighbor and his kids haven't had much luck on the ice this year so we headed over to Hyrum this am to see if the perch would take their blues away. Went to the swim beach and headed out to 34 FOW and drilled some holes, after a couple holes we found an area that was showing marks on the bottom so we set up. Didn't take long and the bites started and fish were coming up through the holes, not hot and heavy as in the past but enough to keep them occupied. Tungsten jigs and a Hali tipped with a piece of crawler is what we fished. Picked up around 10 as the wind started to build and the kids were ready to head home. When we got back to the trucks the temp was just below 60. A guy and his son came out by us for a bit to check out his new Garmin live scope, got to check it out for a few, neat unit.
Ice Conditions: 9"s of ice with the top 3" cloudy, bottom 6 was clear, saw a tiny bit of water on the edge as we went out, snowmobiles and atv's were on the ice, I suspect that with the current temps and rain coming in that the ice season at Hyrum is coming to a close unless it gets cold again
