But it begs the question:  If it's catch and release, who is the catcher and who does the releasing?

His arm was probably pretty messed up anyway.  Tarpon don't have big sharp teeth, but they have small raspy "villiform" ones...like very coarse sandpaper.  And those gill rakers can rough up your skin too.  Not something you would wanna do often.

If you watch the video closely, you will notice blood on his right arm - the arm holding the bait. It looks to be scabbed over from previous attempts and then later in the film it appears to be wet with fresh blood.  I would say he has done this before and knows the hazards.
