Deer Creek - Great Weather - Fishing, not so much
#1
A couple of us made the trip over to DC today to fish from our tubes since everything down our way is capped.

We launched at the main State Park ramp at 10:00 and fished around that area and Wallsburg Bay until about 2:30.

We used size 8 bead head crystal buggers in black/orange/pearl and black/silver on both medium sinking line and fast sinking line.  We only managed to pick up a couple of recent planters, 13" to 14" and one 18" rainbow.  We had a few other fish on but not many.  We did not get any fish afternoon.

The water temperature was 39 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 7'.  The reservoir level is at 69% full and rising.

There were several boats on the water and several bank anglers too and we did see some of them catch some fish.

It was way slow for us but the great weather made it at least bearable. Smile

Sure a pretty background to watch if the poles are not bending
Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew
