Fished Newton from 5pm to 11:30pm last night with Hope's of a pile of crappie for our efforts. The fish thought otherwise. 4 of us landed a total of 18 fish during that time. Fished between 35 and 40 FOW and fish were typically 1.5-3 cranks off the bottom. Marked plenty of fish, but they were picky. Best "catching" hour was the hour before dark with 7 landed at that time. Really spotty after that picking up a fish here or there. At 9:30 it completely shut down. No one thing worked any better that anything else. Standard crappie jigs, spoons, halis, and glow equipment.
