Crawfish and kokes at the Berry
#1
Spent a few days up at Strawberry this past weekend, chillin, fishing and boiling! Put out a few traps for crayfish (recovered one less than I started with  ?!! someone figure they needed it more than me!!)
Fished a bit a couple three mornings, got 2 or 3 kokes on each outing, koke action slowish for us, lots of incidental cutts, mostly slot fish.
Did a big “dad” boil with a few friends, prime time for dads. They are clean, egg free, active and plentiful. Cooked up a bunch whole and a bunch of tails, had so many almost couldn’t get them in the pot! Great fun , great food good company!

Nice haul on the dads, looks like you had a great outing. Too bad the kokes did not cooperate.

Nice!  We are heading up next week for a couple of days to do the same thing.  Looks great!

If you use traps keep an eye on them or hide them well. It was a bummer to have one STOLEN and lose one of my “good” traps wish they would have taken one of the old junkers.
Have fun you in should get a bunch and have a good time.
I love Crawfish boils, I usually get in a couple a summer at least. Not sure this year with travels coming up.
At least we had one great one!

Looks like I’ll get to enjoy one more Boil before I head to AK in August . My niece has had a Crawdad boil for her birthday for about 15 years. She said she wants another birthday dad bash, it’s her birthday tradition!
