Sage Grouse
#1
Heading out tomorrow for Sage Grouse on the West Box Elder unit. If anyone has any Intel, I would sure appreciate it. It is a big unit and I have no idea where to start.

If you can find water, would be a good place to start

I love hunting thunder chickens but I do all my chasing over in Wyoming, so no help either. Google earth looking for water would be my first thing if I did not know the area.
Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew

Don't know if your hunt is still open, but we used to see the sage hens on the high ridge of the raft river range at first light each morning as we were out there looking for deer during the muzzleloader hunt... They would fly off the top of the ridges as the light would start to fill the sky... Pretty cool to see them and there were pretty good numbers of birds too, but we hardly ever seen them later in the day, not sure where they went after that.... Later J
When things get stressful think I'll go fish'en and worry about it tomorrow!
