Jordanelle 1/14
#1
Jig-fisher and I made the trip up to Jordanelle for some ice fishing. Hadn’t seen a lot of reports but enough to know there could be enough ice to fish on. It was 27 degrees when we pulled into the parking lot at first light. It was 41 when we left at 1:00.

I was most interested in perch so my offerings were always on the bottom. But I managed some bows while dropping down. Or if one came through I’d reel up for it. I had a few trout come off right at the hole. I ended the day with 3 rainbow, 1 perch, and 1 splake. Best action of the day was in 44 fow. The splake took a chartreuse tungsten tipped with wax worm.

Sounds like a tough day for perch, did you get a chance to check out the North end, the Ross creek area?

We fished the Rock Cliff area. Yes tough for those perch. Lots of marks but very few takers.

We didn’t check out Ross Creek.

If it's frozen with good ice the Ross creek area would be a good bet for perch, we do good there in the Summer.
