Pan fried walleye fillets for dinner! ?
We also caught 5 wipers (more fillets) and 6 BIG 5#+ channel catfish. Released the line-slimers as the freezer is already well stocked with catfish fillets. There was a nice breeze all morning, chop on the water and the bugs were extremely light. YAY!
We were trolling fast again, 2.5-3.0 mph. Can't believe the cats were jumping on the cranks at that speed as last week was all walleye and wipers, zero catfish. Water was 76 degrees when I finally took notice of it about 8am, guess the natives are getting restless. Two doubles this morning, and those are always great fun with 4 lines out and 2 of us in the boat.
Got on the water at 7am and got off about 10:30am as the bite had significantly slowed. The early bird catches the fish the last few trips.
Also, the WB South Marina was mysteriously deserted when we drove off about 11:30, especially for the Friday before a 3 day weekend. Again, YAY! ?
