...check out this KSL link...it sounds like the moose were all out for blood the other day. Seems like a cooradinated offensive assult.

Shrimpboy, hey back,
Yea I know. Isn't it very very weird? When's the last time you heard about a moose attack in Utah? All of these in a 24-48hr peroiod!!! One guy got tromped on, hard, with significant injuries. Never would have thunk it. I think I'll go get some mace or pepper spray to help Sparky and me out in the next incounter.

You are right Leaky, it is wierd. I thought the same thing when I heard about the guy on snow shoes, and I immediately thought of you and your close encounter.
You know, you really are lucky. That moose could have done some real damage to you, as is evident now. I have had several encounter with moose myself. One in particular was very unnerving. So I always watch out in moose country. And I also counsel those with me to do the same and to admire moose from a healthy distance, especailly cows with calves. Anyway, I'm glad you have a great story to tell without the damage that came with that other guy's story.

Matador,
Of course you're right! Sometimes you don't know you're in moose country. I've been in this area of the Weber for more than 20 years, a dozen times a year and never saw a moose. Needless to say, I've been schooled and will keep one eye open with some protection. The problem is, I don't know what I could have done differently at the time.
