Someone looking for me?
#1
Hey folks, got a message from Bduck seeing if all was well. Luckily, yes! That storm was supposed to be a direct hit in my area until it changed at the last minute and wreaked havoc on our southern neighbors Sad I did get deployed to work and was stuck there for 36 hrs. No damage at the house and in fact the power never went out. Wife and girls were at home with food, water and generator ready to go but luckily nothing transpired. We have been sending guys down south to help out of last month so we are trying to do our part to help out. Anyways, we really dodged a bullet on this one. Still on the water every week, weather is beautiful. Thanks for inquiring about me.

Gotta say, I do not miss the snow. I do miss ice fishing every now and then.

Being able to fish from a boat year round must be nice though, except for those pesky hurricanes.

Yes, something to be said about being on a boat year round. I caught my 1st Cobia a few weeks ago, a baby but still fun. I also have a new part time gig working on the police boat…tough job, but ya know.  Wink

From some of your replies today, I thought it sounded like you had a new job. Sweet gig there, hard to beat having to work on a boat for your job. A Cobia, can't say I've heard much about those fish, are they hard to catch or find?

Cobia, not really, more of an off shore species I believe. I guess they are super tasty.

Cobia are such a weird looking fish! They look like a fish an illustrator for children's books would come up with having never seen a fish in real life.
Now all you have to do is dust off the fly rod and try for one!
Glad you and the fam are ok!
