Otter Creek 2/4
#1
Fished Otter Creek on Saturday 2/4 from around 7:30 to 1:30. Bite was pretty good in the morning in 10 FOW and then moved deeper as the sun came up higher. Lots of little newly stocked fish around 8" with most of the rest being the last seasons holdovers around 15". Got one at 18" early on. White tube jigs, rat finkees, and rattletraps working well. Nice fillets off these fish, but pretty much all 4 had the black spot parasites in their fillets. Bite was pretty much gone by 1 pm and the edges were getting pretty soft. It was around 50 degrees when we were getting off the water, too warm!

Thanks for the report. I wish Otter Creek was closer so that I could fish it more often. Sounds like ice fishing is about done for the year.

Wow, that's amazing it was that much warmer down there. Sounds like a great trip, did you catch more of those small 8 inchers or the bigger ones?

Small ones are much more plentiful. Drought has been hard on the lake the last two years.

It sure has...the OC used to be EPIC for BIG bows! Currently a shadow of it's former self, but as heavily as it is stocked, if we can just have a few more of these wet winters...she may come back!
