Didn't arrive until 11am. Started in the flats, out & north of that last restroom pullout on highway side. About 3-doz tents there, another dozen straight across on the east side, another dozen off the ramp and a dozen by the dam. Everyone was getting perch, but the 5-6"ers beginning to show up. Same story when I left and drilled in at the dam --- 5-6"ers showing up. Last week, out of every dozen fish, ten would be 10". Today maybe two out of every dozen. Ice at 5" everywhere I drilled and the action is still fast. A nice 2" skiff of snow atop, but the trails to & fro are becoming packed down & icy, so gonna wear cleats from now on.

Thanks for the report! Planning on venturing out there (along with the rest of Utah) tomorrow. I'll make sure to bring cleats.

Our group arrived at 7am, went northeast of last restroom. Fished in 24’ to 14’ of water. Was targeting trout but couldn’t keep the perch off our lines and nothing smaller than 8” for us. Plenty of ice and company. Haven’t had a day of perch fishing like that in quite a while

Thanks for the report! What depth were you catching? 35' on the southern flats; 35-55' at the dam. Even caught a few at 73'.

Went out yesterday with JMorFish and set up near Obifishkenobi. The perch bit all morning and early afternoon. Didn’t matter what you put down there. I’d bet it was 10-1 dinks. Really had to cull a lot of fish to find those that were 8” and we didn’t catch any over 9”. Ended up keeping 28 around 8” and that produced just under 1.5 lbs of fillets. Same for JMor on numbers of perch caught/kept.
If I had to do it again, I think I’d fish the east side on the river channel somewhere and put one pole down 15’ or so and try for some trout as well. I love catching fish, but after 4 hrs of culling, getting a trout or two to play would have been a nice change. I think you’re onto something Dubob!
