Anyone tried Mantua or Newton Reservoir lately? Kinda quiet on the northern front, especially with the warmer weather this week. I've heard lots of dink perch being caught at Mantua and not too much of anything else. Newton reports are kinda quiet.

Fished Newton Thurs for a couple hours after work. Ice was over 6" everywhere I tried. Clear and very slick, no snow. Caught small crappie and perch off bottom in deeper water. Very hesitant with what I was offering, guessed wrong I guess. Lots more lookers than hookers.

I wonder if it is still safe ice after this really warm week. Did you access it from the East side near the boat launch?

Wow, guess I should have checked that out. Everything I seen was so far gone I didn’t dare try the ice. Thursday Mantua had big open water spots around the knoll and NE section of the pond so I figure ice was over. Interesting that some is still ok. Thanks for the heads up. Jeff
