"Ice Fish Baby"??
#1
So what do we ice fishermen..and women..do when we can't go ice fishing? Can't do Rockport, probably not Echo or East Canyon, Willard Bay out of the picture, there's no perch at Strawberry, so why go there, Hyrum and Mantua never amounted to much this season, and may not be accessible anyhow...what do we do? watch ice fishing videos on Youtube? go for long walks? (I did today, didn't scratch my itch to be ice fishing)..maybe listen to "Ice Fish Baby" over and over on CD, etc.?.."here I'm sittin' at this hole, with a 3' pole,..there goes my line..is it a KEEPER?".. I almost went out and did some yard work yesterday, but the 45 mph winds straightened out my wavy thinking...So what do we do?? Huh

Been ruminating on that dilemma myself. Maybe south for an open water run

I’m going to take the boat out to Deer Creek and catch football rainbows. My wind app shows that it’s the only place close by where the wind will be reasonable Friday. By next week I’m hoping the ice will be back in good shape across the region.

Do some much needed repairs on my mainframe.  Reverse shoulder replacement completed as planed today.  Now waiting on new boat order and soft water. Should be good to go on both come May.  See ya then.   Big Grin

That's why I took a drive up to DC and Jordy the other day. Just to walk the shorelines and throw some lures to get my fix. The tug is the drug.

Might wanna join "Fishermen's Anonymous".  When ya can't go fishing, call a fellow member to come over and get  drunk with ya.  Of course there is a fairly low membership here in Utah.

Im going to go chase bunnies and get my new green dot sight mounted on my AR.   In a few weeks- weather permitting, Ill uncover the boat and start chasing football bows at DC and Jordy.  Had a nice ice fishing season but the soft water itch is calling.

I was tweaking all my ice gear sleds finders, had 5 great trips, planned 2 outings with groups both Cancelled!! Now not sure, maybe if lucky a bit more cold to get us back on a perch pond. Don’t need to chase trout on ice.
switching gears
So for now buying gear to set up new boat I will be picking up in March. Downriggers, rod holders , lithiums batteries, chargers , ropes, bumpers and more! Staging in garage, so I can outfit it and hit the water fast!! The goodies add up fast can’t wait , Powell , Willard, , Gorge , DC , Jordy, Berry
Bass, crappies, Eyes, kokes I’m coming for you! ?
time spent fishing isn't deducted from ones life

Thanks for some good/fair/crumby ideas!! In season I want to be on my boat, in season I want to be on the ice..Hey, I grew up in Wisconsin, doncha know? ... No, I'm not going back to Wisconsin, I like it here, home for 45 years...But just like a lot of you that have lots of good gear for on the ice..."I want to Ice Fish Baby-so cold,so cold.."...you gotta listen to that tune..you'll understand, eh?
