Thanks for the report. How high up did you go? How is the access?

Have you ever tried fishing the Millcreek right in the middle of S.L.C.?

I went almost to the gate that is closed in the winter. Snow makes access very difficult.
Never really tried it in the valley but am going to, the key I think is to find holes 2+ ft deep, I've scotted a little but yet to find much good areas

The biggest trout I've caught on the mill creek were in under a foot of water. Don't look too much for depth, more for fish activity. If their there, they will bite. I'd recomend just casting into some water, and fishing it.

Do you mainly bait fish, fly fish it, etc..

I pitch small blue fox's and Panther Martins, in a silver, sliver/blue or copper color. I've never even bothered with bait on there. Its a little too small for minnows, which also would kill the browns. Also, I've started using gitzits on there. They work good, too.

I've been finding spines of other fish in the browns about the size of the smaller white bass that were in the Millcreek earlier in the year.[cool]I think the browns are feeding pretty aggressively on minnows.I'm only finding gobs of bread in the little bows.

Hey catchall, you can fish the Millcreek in town on spinners like thejensonkid says[Smile] you can also use small rappallas, flat fish, any small minnow imatator. For bait use just a simple worm drifted in to holes with a bb size sinker.Works great.

It figures. I've seen them browns nail poor little minnows on my line. Sure, they were dead, but it was brutal none the less.
