I fished South Platte Park Ponds from 3-5 PM, ended up catching 3 bass. One bass was about 18 inches and 4 lbs, the other two were small. The water was still a little cool, working a green finesse worm very slowly around structure worked pretty well. It was definitely nice to get after some bass for the first time this year. Check out my article on fishing the ponds at [#800080]http://www.coloradofisherman.com/south_platte_park_ponds_fishing.htm[/#800080].

Those are nice fish! Do you ever fish a jig & pig in there or is there too much vegetation?

I have tried jig and pigs at South Platte in the past, never had much success with them. There are quite a few weeds also, which makes jig fishing pretty tough from shore. I have had most of my success with a split shot rig and small finesse worms. There are some big fish in these ponds, I've seen some that had to be close to 10 lbs. Please catch and release if you go.

Thanks. I appreciate the info. Personally, I release all my bass. I'd like to see all these metro area ponds made strictly catch & release by regulation.

Punkbass,
The ponds are in the Chatfield area, take a look at the article I linked to in my first post for directions. If you have any questions let me know.
