Took some of my kids up to the river this weekend and we had a good time. Caught a few on rapalas and vibrax spinners. Tried worms and salmon eggs but the fish wouldn't hold on very well. The river was beautiful, just slightly murky and a bit higher than late summer flows. A good time to get up there and reduce the brown population like the DWR is asking us to do.

In the proclaimaiton there is a list of waters that have certain species that are over populated and the Brown trout in Blacksmiths Fork are over populated. The DWR is asking that anglers harvest their limit so that average sizes and overall health of the population can improve. Blacksmiths Fork is east of Hyrum in Cache County.
