Deer Creek boat launching?

Anyone know if Deer Creek is up enough to launch safely? I called the State Park number, got a message, says main ramp open for launching, but at the island ramp you still have to launch from the sand/gravel. Just want to know if anyone's been there, if the main ramp is really useable, and if there's any of them little swimmy things biting the hooks on the end of the string.

Check out some of the old replies we have had on this post. We launched almost a month ago on the gravel at the island. It was not bad to launch as long as you stayed to the south side of the cable that runs down the beach. As far as fish biting goes we could hardly get anything to bite. I think the fish are all in close to shore spawning and we would have had better luck from shore than we did in a boat.
