Beaver fishing

I got a wild hair tonight about five minutes before dark and headed out the jordan river. All I could find in the house to use as bait was some frozen shrimp so I grabbed the moose hound and a rod and headed out. I found a good looking spot along redwood road about 2100 north, five minutes after I put the line in the water a beaver starts alarm splashing, every 30 seconds fawaaaap! Kept getting closer and closer, until I decided to move; wasn't going to catch anything with all that rukus. I went clear down to the rose park golf course, find a nice spot and wet my line. Ten minutes in I start getting a little tappy tap, wild with anticipation I missed the set by so much that I still haven't jerked the rod. Anyway I rebait and here comes the freaking beavers again. Fawaaaap, Fawaaaap; so I let the moose loose to chase the beav, of course the dog swimming around is harder on the fishing than the beaver, so I called it quits-----fishless.
