Good news everyone the Albacore are here . The Indian fished saturday 195 degrees 115 miles from point loma. We found a 1/2 degree temp break that went from 58.9 to 59.6 , the fish were holding in this strip of warm water, all of our Albacore were caught on the troll using lite colored feathers of various sizes. The fish were 5 to 7 lbs (about 1 year old) this means they are probably new fish and not hold overs from last year. There are thousands of the by the wind sailors, a jelly fish that seems to populate the same waters as Albacore. Bait was plentyful, also some bonito mixed in with the Albies , we only found 1 kelp paddie and it produced 6 yellowtail , the weather was up a little maybe next weekend things will calm down and help our kelp spotting. Watch for fish counts to rise as more boats get out

fishhead
