Need Help Or Information in Finding Something!
#1
To any saltwater angler, or even freshwater angler, that fishes from shore or from docks or piers. I am looking for a cart or small carriage that I can mount rod holders on, and that is big enough to carry my fishing gear and or tackle boxes along with a cooler. Due to health reasons, I can no longer carry by hand all my gear at one time, and need to lighten the load on my feet by transfering my gear to a cart of some kind. Any help in locating one, or info on where I can purchase one would be greatly appreciated. Leave message here, or e-mail me at : Tcbo7@cs.com.

Being a Kidney Dialysis patient leaves me without the strength to carry everything I need anymore, so any help or ideas would be a real help. Thanks to anyone who responds, and tight lines and good fishing to you all !!!

Paul, the Striper-Maine-iac in Maine !

"Striper Maine-iac"

"Striper Maine-iac"

Good morning Jolly Roger. Let me tell you about what I saw yesterday at Chatfield State Park in Colorado. Two men. Both had a two-wheel cart in tow. One had PVC about 12 inches long attached to the side and his rods stuck in them. The wheels were about 6 inches in diameter to navigate the light sand but most of the path was paved. A chair was hung on hooks on the outside, tackle box inside the wire cage along with a small cooler stacked and held in place by bungee cords. I can only assume that he carried a minnow bucket for I saw no way to attach it to the cart. Didn't seem to make much difference to him, he was hauling in smallmouth bass with a minnow under a bobber.
Chatfield has only one handicapped pier but it is an easy 50 yards from the parking lot to it, paved all the way. Even the bait shop is HR equipped, except the door. A real bugger to open in a wind.
I will look around and see if I can find the maker of those carts, you see them all the time so they are available. It'll just take some modifying to fishing but when done, you have something unique to you alone and set up the way you want it. Must be a way to attach a beer holder.
John S.

Thank you for your reply. I was surprised to see how many replies I actually did get, many with good information and ideas. I have found a Cart. Picked one up at K-Mart. Now I am going to modify it a little to suit my needs. When done, I will take a picture of it and put it online so that others can see my creation. My ideas might be able to help someone else, who knows. Anyhow, Thanks again from the The Striper Maine-iac !!! Tight Lines and good fishing !!!

"Striper Maine-iac"

Glad to hear that you found something that works, Jolly. If you don't mind sending a picture, that'd be great. I already have two publishing companies wanting to see a proposal and outline for a regional fishing guide for the disabled. I'd like to include a few fishing aids as well.
May you exhaust your strength on fish before your bait is gone.
