Eastern Idaho Fishing info
#1
The month of May is my favorite time of year to go fishing. Many of my favorite places will open later this month. This year a few more places were open to spring time fishing thanks to the F&G opening parts of a couple of rivers into year round fishing. Many fishermen don’t like the bad weather spring can bring but I've learned to appreciate bad weather days in spring. Most of the otherwise would be fisherman stay home, which makes it so I can fish in solitude with only the wind, rain and/or snow to bother me.
The LMB fishing in SE Idaho starts to pick up around the first part of May. The bluegill bite should also get better in the next couple weeks as the water warms up. The next several weeks are also the best time of the year to go get some carp with a bow or oversized treble hooks. The F&G have stocked most places with 10"-13" rainbows and will be stocking many more places this month. If you want to bring home a stringer of trout for the frying pan May is the best time of the year to catch "planters" at most places. The hatches also start to improve and the Salmonfly fishing on the lower Henry’s Fork will be starting soon.

Here a list of fish stocking info for the SE region that I copied from the F&G website http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/fish/stocking.
