Started by the pump house fished between 5:30-7:30 we used worms and jigs, my daughter had one bite but didn't set the hook. Talked with two others who didn't have any luck as well they were using minnows.
We moved to the 9600 N. bridge using the same bait same results, although I did manage to take a bird out of the air on one cast. It was an accident I wasn't trying to, so don't flog me for it. There was another group fishing here who caught several small 4"-8" muddies on shrimp.

It's been a tough year so far for cattin'. Now it's memorial day weekend and we're looking at
possible snow on the benches [mad] I guess we need the moisture though. Anyway
is the 9800 N bridge the bridge next to the old wooden toll bridge (north of main st). If it is I've fished that bridge probably 15- 20 times this year and last and I've never caught anything bigger than a 6 in mudder. There is lots of action there just nothing worth keeping. I like the location though because of the easy access and the fact that I'm a red head and the sun and I are mortal enemies.
Anyway, I was thinking about heading down the west side of the lake monday down to either pelican point or the knolls.... anyone familiar with those areas I went to the knolls once about 4 years ago and something really big broke me off. Just wondering if anyne else gets out that way?

I fish the Knolls quite a bit although I havent made it out there this year. I normally start fishing about 8pm and may stay all night. Last year I only managed one kitty out there over 5 pounds and I fished it fairly steady atleast once a week from May though Sept. But I have played tug of war with several in that area well over 15 pounds. Infact I bumped heads with a 18 and a 14 the same night not quite two years ago out there.
Btw, I use your basic all nature Kitty baits. Carp, shrimp, chub meat, etc...etc... and the more bloody the better. Whats more, I dont allow it to stand around and rot as long as some big kitty hunters do before I use it..
This afternoon I think it will be a trip back to west mountain area to try for eye and slap leather with old whitie. The camera goes with just incase that big she kitty is still hangin out in that area that I netted a week ago Sunday.
Good luck, pop a biggin'!
