Catch & Release
#1
[cool][blue]For many of us, C&R is something we learn and practice to insure that fish populations remain strong enough for worthwhile fishing...for ourselves and others.[/blue]

[#0000ff]Some fishermen have a real problem with C&R because they feel that if they don't take home a limit everytime they are not getting their money's worth out of their license fees.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Then, there are those anglers who truly rely on eating their catch, to supplement the family food budget.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Had to laugh at this cartoon in this morning's Phoenix paper. I'll bet the DWR officers would have a fun time trying to enforce C&R regs with fishermen like these on the water.[/#0000ff]

The idea of fishing as recreation and not to put meat on the table will drive catch and release into everyones mind in the next 20 years. If not, the population increase and increased fishing pressure caused by it will make it very hard to catch a fish.

[cool][#0000ff]Hey Don...and Ocean...those ain't Arizona bears. Yeah, we got black bears aplenty in the higher parts of Arizona, but they're different. They got sense enough to wear big straw hats and protective covering when they go fishing. Hard to tell the bears apart from the "snowbirds" that flock into Arizona. In the fall, the leaves don't change, but the license plates do.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Not only that, but Arizona fishermen are like a lot of Utah fishermen. Tough to get them to release anything. Then, it's the ones with the freezers full of ruined fish that complain when the fishing goes downhill. Blame it all on the fish and game departments. They don't stock enough.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]At least bears eat what they keep, and don't keep more than they can eat. [/#0000ff]
