Colorado fire ban
#1
For those of you anticipating visiting Colrado, please note that we now have a statewide fire ban in effect. The rules are strict and the law enforcement is even stricter. This includes state parks, US forests, national grasslands, anywhere within our borders. The last rain and snow did little to help.
No open fires. (You're looking at jail time here)
No fireworks of any type (statewide)
No gas stoves or lanterns (anything that can get hot)
No smoking (only within an enclosed vehicle with the windows closed).
Spark arrestors on all off-road vehicles.
Spark arrestors on chain saws

There are many other rules, laws, etc that are made up to fit the situation so you can't count on this being an all inclusive list. Ignorance is not an acceptable excuse and there is no appeal to a higher authority. We've already had three big fires and the fire season hasn't officially started as yet (June). Would you believe that the smoke from our last fire was seen two states over?

My recommendation? Fish elsewhere until this is over.
