Blue Horizon 6/11
#1
[ul]Was planning to go the Seahawk Friday but I go a call from Jimmy from the Blue Horizon saying that they were open party tonight so I decided to head South to kill more Tuna's.. Got down there around 9:45pm to find a bunch of drunk rental rod people going on the boat.. Oh boy this is going to be fun.. This group was a group of 7 guys that came from far as Idaho.. These guys were tanked and didn't realize what they were heading into.. There was these guys, a father, son and friend group of three, two guys from the ticket office and one Jerk drunk that made it last minute so I was lucky #13.. This was killing me because I was stone sober.. I definitely had to be drunk going with this group.. I should of gone home but I decided to stay.. I had to pull out the bottle and start drinking quick.. We left dock with a lot of trash talking going on in galley but soon as we got outside the harbor.. OH BOY a whole different ball game was about to appear.. It was rough and these guys starting falling like flies.. There goes my galley bed.. Guys starting puking about 20min in and then there was the concern of them falling over.. Jake the deckhand and Jimmy had to babysit for the night, I kept a close watch to.. I told Jimmy and Deluna thanks for the invite.. I just wanted go home about 1/2hr in but I was stuck.. Deluna goes don't worry these guys won't even fish tomorrow so I was looking forward to having most of the boat to myself.. A little later everybody got sick except for me and the pain the butt drunk.. I mean this guy wouldn't shut up.. The funny thing was he would go to the head with beer in hand and eat #### every time.. He reminded of me of JC because he spilled more than he drank.. lol Well, about 1am and everybody was out pretty much except for me because I had no where to sleep.. Finally got a good old bench to sleep on..

Fishing now: I thought our plan was to go to where the meat was at 90 miles but Deluna said I won't be able to do it with this group.. I understood because they were all ready sick and all rent rodders.. He didn't want to beat them up coming home from 90 miles so we fished at 65 miles with the Legend and Voyager.. Got up about 5:20 am to see to my surprise most people were up but that was because they were all sick and over the side.. 5min later HOOK UP.. It was on,a double and the fish came to the boat.. Now I had a lot of room now because that group of 7 was not only sick but had no hooks on their rods.. They didn't even rig up or have the crew rig them up.. I tried the Iron first to avail so I stepped down the TB level and threw a bait.. INSTANT.. To easy TB.. I went one for two on this stop and we landed 5.. If we had my normal charter group or any talent at all we would of had at least 20 + on this stop.. About a 1/2 hour later another jig strike but bigger fish.. Deluna threw a bait and was on.. I threw a plastic and all of sudden a big flash and I was on.. These fish were up to 30lbs and were the only two caught on this stop.. Later in the day we found a nice paddy that wanted to bite.. Most of the people were finally ready to fish.. The yellows started going off and most of the guys were bit.. I fished the Iron in the bow and went 1 for 2.. Now we at least have some Yellows on the boat.. Hit another paddy later that I got 4 on the Iron.. Most of the day were just jig strikes no bait fish.. Heard on the radio that it was WFO down below us.. Oh well, thats why I prefer chartering then open party.. Only two guys on this trip never came out and fished.. The funny thing was one of them was the loudest, obnoxious guy when he came on the boat.. The other guy was the Fathers kid's friend.. The Father's kid was going into the Navy in 5wks and got very sick this trip but fished all day.. I told him you better get used to the sea.. He was a good kid and got to reel in most of the troll fish because that big group wouldn't even watch the rods when it was their turn to troll.. I handed off three troll fish to the nicer guys on the boat.. We got in early because of all the sea sick people on the boat.. We were in by 6pm.. I have never seen more happier people to be on land.. TB thanks for not coming I finally won Jackpot..

Total count: 14 albies and 24 yellows[/ul] [ul][/ul] [ul]Thanks Deluna, Jimmy, Jake and Wardo for keeping it enjoyable when you have difficult situations..

PS.. Deluna I have to say this because you brought it up.. When we went through our dry spell with no jig strikes.. I decided to take the cedar plug off and put the Mexican flag on.. 1 min later HOOK UP.. I took credit but Deluna said he had a good meter mark and did a circle so he wouldn't give me the credit.. OK

PS PS The hot jig on this trip was not the cedar plug it was my new jig don't know what you call it.. RED/BLK/PURPLE/PINK.. Its been hot every trip so far this year..

Hey CK, It sounds like you had a good time anyways. Keep up the awesome reports and I look forward to going down there someday soon. It would be nice to fish with someone who knows what they are doing.
