Anglers reported some success for striped bass near Stewarts Point and Ann Marguret Cove, however the fish were very small measuring only 12 – 13 inches. The fish were taken with anchovies.[/size][/font]

Small stripers that measured 8 – 10 inches were also noted in the area. A striper that weighed in at 1½ pounds was taken in the area on a Sassy Shad lure.[/size][/font]
[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Boaters reported some top-water action at Hatchery Cove, Black Island and the Vegas Wash areas. Most fishing is taking place at night, early morning or late evening due to the rising temperatures.

Boaters continued to find fair action for striped bass in the Cottonwood Cove area. NDOW creel census clerks checked 54 stripers with the largest weighing just over
two pounds, but the majority weighed in at just over a pound.
One boater landed a largemouth bass that weighed 3 pounds and a catfish that weighed in at 2 ½ pounds. The fish were taken with anchovies and a Sassy Shad lure.
An angler presented a Bluegill Sunfish that weighed in at 2.24 pounds and measured 13½ inches. The fish was taken in the Laughlin Lagoon area. If the measurements are verified, the fish will be recognized as the new state record.
Rainbow trout are scheduled to be stocked from shore at Willow Beach on Friday, July 2.

Variable weather conditions that brought rain and winds impacted fishing this previous week. Surface water temperatures continued to remain in the lower 70s.
Dan Maes, Assistant Area Manager said that rainbow trout fishing has been spotty at best, however anglers did catch fish. A few trout that measured 17 inches were caught, but the majority was in the 12 – 13 inch range. No largemouth bass were creeled.
Adams McGill, Haymeadow and Cold Springs reservoirs are all in good shape, as the weeds have not become a problem for shore anglers. [/indent]
