Hey there guys,
I can't resist Yeeee Hawwww-ing to all wiper fans. Southern California's largest natural lake now has white bass/striper hybrids i.e. wipers planted and swimming around chomping on poor innocent little shad.
The lake... Oh ya.... Lake Elsinore. Fish Report thru operations at (909) 674-7730. Cost $7 to get in and you might not like the year permit $$$ for boat launching but....
Lake Manager says there's good bait in the water to sustain the fishery and this Fall ought to be great for them fattening up.
They are still pretty small at 15 or 16 inches but ought to be fun anyways.

I didn't know they were called wipers...[crazy], but I'll be looking for them pics, too! Over here in Georgia, Lake Lanier gets hundreds of striper fry each year since this fresh water lake doesn't have conditions for an effective spawn. Glad to hear the left coast is gettin' with the fishing techno times hehehe!
Best, ~Glenn

Those Wipers are a hybrid crossed between a striped bass and a while bass. They can only do it in their lab and all the offspring are sterile. Therefore they cannot reproduce on their own and will always have to be replanted frequently.
