The U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search Tuesday night for a missing fisherman - a Portsmouth firefighter - who fell overboard approximately 37 miles off Oregon Inlet, N.C., Tuesday morning. Officials say 26-year old Brad Cole was on a chartered fishing vessel named "Wildman" around 9:00am when he became seasick. As he was leaning over the railing of the vessel, Cole apparently fell overboard. The Coast Guard says Cole was not wearing a life jacket. About 25 other chartered fishing vessels assisted the Coast Guard in searching the area. The search was suspended around 9:30pm. Cole, who joined the Portsmouth Fire Department two years ago, is assigned to Squad 7.
