[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3][/size][/font]Two fly fishermen told NDOW that they caught and released 15 rainbow trout on Saturday (7/3/04). They were using black and brown wooly bugger flies.
Boaters seem to be having good luck with flies and PowerBait while shore fishing is now difficult. Aquatic weed growth is now a problem as it makes for difficult fishing conditions because it becomes entangled on hooks.[/indent]

There have been recent reports of good fishing for small stripers in the vicinity of Special Events Beach.[/size][/font]
[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Anglers who were fishing at Kingman Wash last week had good success for channel catfish. They reported to NDOW that the striper fishing is slow in that area of the lake.
A boater who fished at night near Fish Island in the Overton Arm caught 15 stripers. The fish averaged from 1 - 2 pounds and were caught with anchovies. [/size][/font][/indent]

Approximately 60 anglers were on hand at Willow Beach for last Friday’s (7/2/04) trout and everyone caught fish. Several anglers reported they took limits of 10 trout. The next Willow Beach plant will be held on Friday (7/9/04) morning.
Cottonwood Cove had a large crowd on hand for Independence Day weekend, but very few were fishing. Those who did take the time to fish had fair action for stripers beyond the narrows above Cottonwood by fishing with anchovies and squid.

Daniel Maes, Assistant Installation Manager, said that rainbow trout fishing has been good. Most anglers checked had fish that averaged 13 inches. PowerBait and live worms were taking the fish.
Largemouth bass anglers said fishing was fair to good on both Haymeadow and Cold Springs reservoirs
Weather conditions were very good with daily temperatures in the high 80s and the nights dropped into the upper 40s.
