[cool][cool][cool][cool]Boy I'm just a traveling fool but it sure beats work. Spent 3 days on Lake Winnie. in NH. The small mouth bass action was great on plastic worms. Most were in the 16" range I'll be posting a pic on the 16 species contest soon. I also tried for some Salmon but did not have any luck with them only one release on the down riggers. I guess I was to lazy and didn't get up early enough to get on a bite. Small mouth were hitting all the time.Very heavy boat traffic on this lake. An example you might emagin, the wind was calm but the sea was 3' just because of the boats.
Also spent 3 days at Lake Champlain northern end off of grand Isle. The Vermont state camp grounds there is very nice and a good launch ramp as well. I did not purchase a vermont fishing liesence because of the new agreement between new york and vermont but I had to fish out in the main lake and was not able to fish what is known as the inland sea along the east side of the islands. But every time I went thru there I was amazed at the number of fish I was seeing on the fish finder in the 70' range in 100' of water. I believe these were Salmon. I will be going back again and will get the vermont fishing 3 day permit and will troll the area I spoted so many fish. Did try for bass while I was there but had no suscess finding them or the were just inactive when I was out but that is typical for July on Lake Champlain. Water was low so caution had to be used going under the bridge at is what is called the sand bar.Had to go extremly slow thru 2' of water for about 1/2 mile on the west side. We did manage to pick up some perch and rock bass near the old train crossing. When I was young this area was mainly a fishermans paradise. With farming and catering to the fisherman was there livelyhood. This has all changed what you see now is bicyles and antique shops. The Islands are great for cycling because it is a very easy grade some low rolling grades on the roads. I did have my bikes with us to take avantage of the easy terran.
All in all it was a great trip and now I look forward to August and a week at lake george NY. Chief
