Canyon lake Report
#1
The heat is on. Have benn out in Arizona for the past week and had the chance to hit Canyon lake.

104 degrees at 11:00am finally slowed down the bite.

Arrived at 8:00am Fished the back part of Boulder Creek from shore only.

Shad were being boiled on all over. Started to through Storm wild eye shad pearly white swim baits got three full hookups largemouths. Smallest at 14 inches largeast at 21 inches. The Largemouth bite slowed then stoped at around 10:00 am.

I got tired of no more bites and started throughing a one inch rapala trout lure in the trying to get some of the large bluegills I had seen swimming around the rocks, it was a success. Thats when the Smallmouth started hitting every cast for the next HOUR. No fish over fourteen inches but the fighting spirit of these little guys made them feel like five pound Largemouths.

Morning bite is working Fish kill is not as bad as reported.
