Newton/Porcupine Over The 4TH
#1
[red]The computer crashed and I had to do the format C:/ thing and have been offline for a week. Thought I'd get you some late Cache Valley info anyhow. Tried Porcupine for an afternoon with a small ford fender to a snubber to 4' of leader to a needlefish on the downrigger anywhere from 20-60 feet with one little bite. The water was only about 10' down and it is still way pretty up there. They have put up a new sign prohibiting overnight camping and off road trespassing at the cattle guard. Hit Newton for another afternoon all along the west shore and picked up a dozen juvenile crappie casting with a crocodile. I then fished the dam for an hour without a bite but did see one moldering 13" LMB that had washed up on shore there. The water is 8'-10' below the end of the boat ramp but there were still a few folks that had their ski boats on it. [/red]

I took my kids out there a week ago but we got skunked at newton. The kids were disappointed so I took them to cutler for some bullheads and catfish. I was actually surprised that the water at newton wasn't as low as last year yet. Chicken
